As a member of the City of Vincent’s Art Committee, I was delighted to attend the opening of the Hyde Park Exhibition at the Inglewood Arts Centre.
The exhibition featured over 40 artworks including paintings, drawings and textiles, created by local artists Kirsten Hocking, Alex Kyriakacis, Emma Nolan, and Laura Peden. Over the past year, the four artists have met weekly to paint, draw and create in the park, witnessing the seasons shift and the impact of the polyphagous shot-hole borer.
It was a truly moving night. Hyde Park is one of my favourite places, and seeing it expressed through such diverse and thoughtful artworks was something I won’t forget.
Some artworks from the exhibition are still available to purchase, you can view them here: https://www.kirstenhockingarts.com.au/store
