It was a gorgeous day at Birdwood Square for this year’s City of Vincent Plant Sale!
Late last year, the City asked our community for feedback on whether to trial one larger sale in May, instead of the two smaller events usually held in April and August. That feedback came to Council, and we agreed to give it a go.
The change is about climate resilience. With Perth’s weather becoming hotter and drier, and with rainfall arriving later each year, holding the sale in May gives our plants a much better chance of survival.
Did you know the City has been hosting plant sales for almost 20 years? This year’s sale carried on that proud tradition, with residents able to take home a wide range of local plants for just $1 each. It’s a simple but powerful way to support biodiversity, expand tree canopy coverage, and keep our neighbourhoods cooler and greener.
